A study published recently in Emergency Medicine Australasia described the association
between lid and conjunctival injuries (LACI) with non-fatal strangulation and/or domestic
family violence in cases of non-sexual assault. The authors highlighted the importance of a
full clinical examination of the eye and a systematic protocol for accurate photographic
recording of LACI.
